Meet Cheryl and Woody Wasson.

Woody’s passion of backyard barbeque and Cheryl’s love of cooking, became the perfect combination to launch Woody’s Smoke Shack in 2002.
 
After years of backyard cooking and “feeding the multitudes”, (friends, family and strangers)  and with encouragement and desire it led us to the next step …….COMPETITION  BARBEQUE
 
Armed with a brand new smoker, we pulled out of our driveway, feeling confident yet  scared. We waved to our friends  and family but  it still felt like we were off to the big unknown.  “ROOKIES in the Big World of Competition Barbeque.”   So began our journey into “JUDGED FOODS”.
 
It was a lot of hard work and long hours but very rewarding.  We learned new techniques and “THE RULES”.  We were perfecting our foods to the level demanded by the rules and protocol of the Barbeque Society.  Thanks to  all our new friends and comrades who supported and encouraged us all along the way.  We began winning awards, prizes, and trophies.  We were on our way.  We entered more competitions, traveling around Iowa and the Midwest, even to Tennessee. We are proud to be an Iowa Champion.
 
People were begging us to open a restaurant or prepare barbeque for sale.   We decided to branch out by vending at various competitions.  The response was overwhelming.   We then began vending at community celebrations and events, commercial events and then also catering at private parties and homes, businesses and sporting events.  More requests came for catering and expanded menus.  Now we are  proud to introduce

This is our own Personal Chef Service, for families, professionals, seniors, singles, students or any busy on the go people who need a delicious, nutritious home cooked meal.  We prepare for events also.  See our LINK
